Fall into Style Ladies, fall is here and it is time for you to Fall into Style. If you are like me, this is your favorite time of year. The air is crisp, the colors are rich and the new fashions are always exciting. By now, most of you have started transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall. Before packing away those summer items, make sure that they are all free of stains. You don’t want to pack soiled items away for a whole year. Before hanging all of your fall items back in your closet, check for fit, and repair and cleaning needs. If there are any pieces you did not wear last fall (because of style, fit or damage), don’t hang them back up this fall. Consider taking them to a charity, a consignment shop, or hold a clothes swap with friends. Start this new season off with a closet that only holds the pieces that help you look and feel your absolute best. |

Realizing that a new season brings with it the urge to buy new things, make sure that you shop your closet before shopping the stores or the web. Ask yourself: “Do I know how to build my wardrobe? “ (See the September newsletter) “Do I have the wardrobe basics?” (See the August newsletter) Remember that you are building a wardrobe that supports who you are and what you do, rather than just shopping for miscellaneous pieces. If you have doubts about where to begin, take advantage of our FREE 20 Minute Image Assessment, and let us help you celebrate who you are, with what you wear. Enjoy October in style, Cheryl |

As many of you may have already noticed, there are great bargains to be had this month. Both discount stores and department stores alike have made drastic reductions in a last ditch effort to move the last pieces of summer merchandise out of the store. October is also the month when holiday-wear begins to appear in stores. Shop now for the best selection as these pieces are picked over by November. The selection for boots is this month as well. If you have a hard to fit foot, or wear a popular size, shop now. Although you may pay full price, it may be worth it to get the pair you want. |

Q. Dear Cheryl, I have a problem finding pants to fit correctly because I'm thin but I have curves. I find, in order for pants to fit, they have to be a little big in the waist. If they fit in the waist, then they are too tight everywhere else. My question is, where can I find pants that fit me? Thank you, Matisha, Atlanta, GA |

Ask Cheryl Continued A. Dear Matisha, yours is a common problem that I will answer it in two parts. First, in order to get the fit that is the most flattering to your body type, you may want to consider investing in alterations. While men generally expect to have to alter much of what they purchase, as ladies we tend to think that our purchases should fit right off the rack. You say that to get the proper fit in the hips, you end up with a waist that is too large. Find a seamstress you trust that will alter the waist for you and remember to factor in the cost of alterations when considering the cost of a skirt of pair of slacks. Second, you may want to look for pants that are cut fuller in the thigh and leg. This may allow you do wear one size smaller than you typically do, which will give you the fit you need in the waist without sacrificing the needed room in the hips and thighs.
